Curio Collection

The presence of African-American spiritual traditions in Memphis was so prolific that the city became home to several spiritual supply manufacturers. Herbs, powders, oils and incense would become known as 'curios' in the shops that carried them. The msueum maintains a large collection of curios from around Memphis and North America.
